Everybody has their own ideas when it comes to wardrobe staples every woman should own.
These are the high-quality pieces that we wear repeatedly. They form the basis of most of our looks. And they sustain the test of time due to their fashion kudos and versatility.
In fact, if we had to pick just 5 wardrobe staples every woman should own to create a personal capsule collection, here are the pieces that we couldn’t live without.

1. 100% Cotton Classic White T-Shirt
Firstly, are you ready for wardrobe staples every woman should own 101? Step forward, the classic white t-shirt.
Personally, we prefer to invest in the 100% cotton variety. It might be a little more expensive than a cheap fabric equivalent, but it’s worth the investment.
And it will inevitably last you many washes without losing its vibrancy, shape, fit or colour.
To style your white t-shirt, pair it with a pretty printed high-waisted floral skirt during summer and your favourite flats. Alternatively, layer it up during winter with jeans, sneakers and an oversized bomber jacket.
Either way, it’s a win-win situation.
2. Levi’s Skinny Jeans
In addition, pretty much the king of the denim world, Levi’s have always been my go-to for a good pair of jeans that fit like a dream.
Producing superior-quality, long-lasting denim in a wide range of colours, washes, cuts and styles, Levi’s is loved by all genders across the globe.
Why? Well, this brand has an ability to keep on delivering amazing products, season after season.
Our evergreen staple is a pair of high-waisted Levi’s skinny jeans that flatter every type of body. Team them with a camisole vest and oversized sunglasses during the day. Then swap the cami for a structured blouse and sky-high heels when taking out your skinny jeans for the night.
Did someone say “tres chic”?
3. Black Leather Backpack
On the other hand, there are wardrobe staples every woman should own that isn’t a clothing item. Enter: the trusty leather backpack.
If you’re an avid traveller, this is the key accessory that can hold all of your important travel documents, which is why you should choose to invest in a reputable brand.
And given the high-quality leather craftsmanship, you don’t have to worry about accidentally overloading it because it’s built to last.
FYI, we always opt for classic black with accessories as it’s a colour that goes with everything! In terms of detailing, keep it minimal and elegant with neutral or metallic hues and your outfit is bound to stand out for all the right reasons.
4. Converse Sneakers
Also ideal for travel trips, we don’t think we’d survive in life without a great pair of trainers that are stylish yet comfortable.
Our absolute favourites are Converse trainers. Not only do they fit well and are very kind to the tootsies, but they come in a range of extremely eye-catching prints and colours.
Sometimes we throw them on with my classic white tee and Levi’s jeans for a casual, yet fashionable look. Other times, we dress them up for a dinner out with friends with a skater-style dress.
It just depends what kind of a mood we’re in.
5. Short-Sleeved Plain Shift Dress
Finally, every fashionista needs a plain shift dress that’s cut just above the knee in length. We prefer short sleeves as they’re more flattering, and you can wear this style over a pair of leggings or tights with a jacket during the colder months.
In terms of the colour palette, it’s best to choose a hue that suits your skin tone. But you can always opt for timeless nudes, navy, grey or monochrome if all else fails.
We like to dress our plain shift dress up with a blazer, tights and court shoes for the office or smart casual occasion. Then for everyday casual cool, we’ll throw on a denim jacket, a long bohemian-style necklace and boots or sandals, depending on the season.
