3 Sassy Summer Party Dresses to Wear on Holiday

Picture the scene: you’re about to go on a beach holiday for a week or two.

You’re in the middle of packing when you realise that you’ve had a bit of a mind blank.

Sure, your daytime looks are down, but you’ve totally forgotten to think about the summer party dresses you’re going to want to wear at night.

(Doh.)

Do you dress down? Do you go full-on glam? Or do you go for something completely out of your comfort zone because LOL you’re on holiday and you’re never going to see those fellow holiday-makers again?

Either way, your nighttime holiday wardrobe needs sorting out and it needs sorting out pronto. There’s just no time to play with.

In fact, you spent any spare time you had making sure you packed all the travel-sized toiletries that you need. (And this was enough to clear out the whole travel-sized section at Boots – sorry, not sorry.)

The time is now. You need to make decisions – and you need to make them fast.

Lucky for you, we’re here to help. These 3 spectacular summer party dresses are essential for creating the perfect check-me-out-I’m-sunkissed-on-holiday nighttime look.

1. The Comfy Maxi

Essential summer party dresses to wear on holiday 101: a comfy maxi.

This option is ideal for the nights where you just can’t be bothered to make much effort or you’d rather opt for function over fashion.

Perhaps you’re in a hot and sticky location, or maybe you’re just grabbing a quick dinner with bae. Either way, you want something that you can just throw on while still looking chic AF.

In this case, the comfy maxi is here to answer all your prayers.

If you’re going somewhere fancy, style it up with a sophisticated hair accessory, earrings and a cute clutch.

Otherwise, merely pair yours with metallic sandals and a crossbody bag to channel ultimate summer holiday vibes.

2. The Attention-Grabber

Prefer something that makes more of a statement? No problem – try experimenting with summer party dresses that attract attention.

We’re talking about the kind that come in a colour-popping hue or a fun in-your-face print.

(You know, the summer party dresses that make you turn heads for all the right reasons?)

Personally we love a bold and bright colour that we wouldn’t typically wear in England like lime green or neon yellow.

You can then use minimal accessories and understated sandals to tone down your look and prevent it from being too overpowering.

3. The Elegant Neutral

Another of my favourite summer party dresses is the elegant neutral variation.

This works best for smart casual occasions like upmarket dinners or when you feel like going OUT out.

Whether you choose to rock a black, white, beige or grey hue, the right frock will take you from drab to fab in mere moments.

Want to take this aesthetic one step further? Pick colour-popping accessories like a bright coral handbag with a simple cream frock.

Alternatively, if you want to produce a classy yet stylish ensemble, opt for metallic shoes and accessories in shapes and materials driven by the latest trends.

(For example, we’re currently obsessed with straw bags for summer.)

Picking the Right Summer Party Dresses

Even though there are multiple summer party dresses that you can pack for your beach holiday, remember to shop according to your personal style and body shape.

That said, if you want to experiment with different looks, a summer holiday is definitely the time to do it.

After all, we don’t know about you, but being abroad by the sea somewhere is when we feel the most relaxed and carefree.

What’s your favourite style when it comes to summer party dresses?

YAY FOR REPEAT FASHION. 🙌🏻 You might have n YAY FOR REPEAT FASHION. 🙌🏻 You might have noticed on my feed that I’m a big fan of re-wearing and getting the most out of my clothes. Sure, fast fashion is affordable and enticing, but not exactly environmentally-friendly (or often ethical). Instead, I champion sustainable style! Why? Well: - It’s better quality
- It’s kind to the planet
- It saves money
- It saves packing space when you’re going on a trip 🧳💪🏻 Read more about how you can be more sustainable with fashion in 2021 by visiting www.trendytourist.co.uk (link in bio). 💕 P.S. Doesn’t Christmas feel like it was ages ago?! #sustainablestyle #sustainableclothing
WEDDING DETAILS. 💁🏼‍♀️ Haven’t got WEDDING DETAILS. 💁🏼‍♀️ Haven’t got all the photos back yet but our ceremony photographer @julia_roy_photos was kind enough to send through a sneak-peek! 😄 The whole look I was going for was “romantic elegance” with some boho touches to tie in with the beach setting. Hence, the beautiful flowers with blush pink accents and soft ivory draping that juxtaposed the rustic textures of the bamboo arbour, aisle lanterns and co-ordinating seashells. Thank you @bigdaykw for helping bring my vision to life! What do you think? I’ll share hair and makeup details next. 👰‍♀️ (Disclaimer: not an ad, just grateful!)

OVERLOOKING (AND WEARING) NATURE. 🌊🌸 Just b OVERLOOKING (AND WEARING) NATURE. 🌊🌸 Just because there are dark clouds on the horizon doesn’t mean there isn’t beauty to be found all around you. Have faith. Trust the universe. It won’t be long until blue skies are revealed and the sun shines out the clearer. 🌞 On a side note, I live in strappy tops, linen shorts and flip flops when I’m in a warm climate. (Or short, loose-fitting skirts and dresses!) What about you? Do you like comfy summer style too? 💕 #travelfashion #travelstyle

2020 IN REVIEW. This year has been tough for us a 2020 IN REVIEW. This year has been tough for us all. On a personal level, I’ve had days where I’ve struggled to get out of bed and be motivated whether I was supposed to be working or not. Days where I didn’t know who my next client was or where my next paycheque was coming from, which was heartbreaking when I’d spent three years building a business only for it to slow down to a complete standstill. Days where I’ve been so low because this new way of living has felt never-ending and soul-destroying. That said, I’ve also been lucky enough to experience some amazing highlights, which have brought unexpected joy to my life in such a challenging time. These include: - Spending the new year with my family in Wellington having just been proposed to on Christmas Day and having just celebrated my Dad’s 60th birthday on NYE
- Travelling around the North Island of New Zealand with my fiancé
- Visiting Perth, Australia for the first time
- Celebrating my 30th birthday with friends and family in Leeds
- Travelling around Ireland with my fiancé
- Visiting Cancun for the second time
- Having a beach elopement and becoming a Mrs in Key West, Florida
- Visiting Miami Beach for the second time (All while adhering to COVID guidelines, of course!) ☺️ Now I’m reflecting during a brief stopover in Wisconsin before heading back to the UK. Sure, there are going to be more tough times to come in 2021. Thanks to this new strain of coronavirus, more restrictions and lockdowns are inevitable. However, if humanity has proved anything so far, it’s that we’re strong, resilient and can overcome anything we put our minds to. The comeback is always greater than the setback. So here’s to a better year ahead, may you continue to find hope in the darkest hour. There is always light at the end of the tunnel if you’re willing to look for it. ♥️ #2020inreview #goodbye2020
JUST MARRIED. 👰‍♀️🤵‍♂️ We just JUST MARRIED. 👰‍♀️🤵‍♂️ We just couldn’t wait, so we eloped! Now Key West will forever have a special place in our hearts, just like Nashville (where we met in 2015) and Wellington (where we got engaged last year). Regardless, home is wherever I’m with you @nathanthuerwachter. Here’s to a lifetime of adventures! (...And celebrating properly once this pandemic is over!) 🥂 #elopementwedding #elopementphotography
